Site Developer or Contractor street art

Always large and thematic, these examples of street art are almost always lacking "that edge." Recently I saw a lot of this stuff on boarded-up derelict houses in Liverpool. I was not moved to take a single snap. These are from Merchant City in Glasgow - an area which has undergone considerable gentrification in the past few  years.

Commercial Street Art

This Trocabhramha thing is projected as a "culture Jam of UK and Brasilian talent." Perhaps. But behind it is a brazilian beer company with a clear programme for marketing its beer. What I can't understand is how they are so blatant about it. The cynic in me says that their approach can be summed up simply as "lets dress this up as all counter culture etc and in the process sells loads of beer." I am willing to be corrected.

Here is their Flickr group.

And here is the web site

Merchant City

A stencil graffiti. I took this shot ages ago in Glasgow. Put it up on Flickr and some outfit called schmap.me contacted me for permission to use it on their web pages for the introductory blurb to that bit of posh Glasgow. No money changed hands of course.
